On Monday, March 31, students gathered in Webster Gym to welcome Maicel Green, a lobbyist and two-time Olympian and gold medalist for track and field.

Green presented her story to students, discussing her journey to the Olympics for track and field, delving into various struggles she faced along the way and how she ultimately overcame them. Green has been running track and field since she was in high school, breaking records all the while balancing student life. As an adult,  she made it to the Olympics games where she won a gold medal. Since then, she has coached at various universities in Florida, and she now works as a lobbyist. She shared words of motivation with students, encouraging them to keep going and push through adversity.

After Green finished her speech, she invited students to ask her questions regarding her story. Students asked how she balanced school work with track and field, what made her want to go into lobbying after an athletic career and many more. Green finished her presentation by holding up her Olympics gold medal in front of the students.
