On Oct. 24, Maclay’s sophomore class visited Tallahassee State College (TSC). The college hosted the World of Works (WOW) career exposition. WOW seeks to expose students, teachers and parents to high-demand career opportunities in the North Florida region. Students could visit various tents and stations to learn about the different careers. The career exhibitions were from many differing backgrounds, including Healthcare, Hospitality and Tourism, Energy and Utilities and Technology and Education. Each section had a board listing the salaries and education requirements of various jobs in the field. This allowed the event participants to further understand how much work and reward is involved in each career.

“It was very informative and there were a lot of job opportunities,” sophomore Elsa Bykova said. “[I think it was] very helpful.”

WOW’s career exposition allowed Maclay sophomores the opportunity to learn about possible jobs in their area that they wouldn’t have known about otherwise.
