Principles in Biomedical Science Class


Pulse - Sophomores Lily Money and Jacob Kever learn how to take their pulses. They count how many beats they feel in 15 minutes and multiply it by four to find their resting heart rate.

Blood Pressure Cuff - Students learn how to take blood pressure using a blood pressure cuff.


Pulse Oximeter - A pulse oximeter is used to observe blood saturation levels.


Pulse - Biomedical teacher Rachel Paul teaches the students how to measure their pulse without any tools.


Project Lead The Way - Students use the Project Lead The Way website to learn about the tools they are using and how to use them properly.


Notebook - Students write down procedures and their vital signs in their notebooks.


Heartbeat - Sophomore Regan Mayfield takes her pulse with her fingers. Her pulse is how often her heart beats.


Temperature - Junior Priscilla Izuegbu waits for her temperature to be ready.


Thermostat - Students unpackage thermostats to take their temperatures.


Data Table - Money writes down her vital signs in a data table.
