The girls beach volleyball team traveled to Liberty County on Tuesday, April 1, looking to secure their first win of the season. While the Marauders left everything on the sand, they ultimately fell short, losing 4-1.

“I wanted to play as hard as I possibly could,” senior Kayla Iarossi said. “The only thing I was thinking about was winning and what I could do for the next play.”

Senior Ava Molthen and junior Izzi Ward won during the second match, leveling the score 1-1. However, Liberty County swept the Marauders in the last three sets, winning 4-1.

“We lost the first game but then we came back and we won,” senior Gray Burleson said. “The first game showed us what our weaknesses were against this team.”

The girls aim to win their first match of the season and end their seven game losing streak on Wednesday, April 2 against the Sneads.
