“The Bachelor” is a popular American dating and reality TV show. Season 29 of “The Bachelor” aired on Jan. 27 on ABC, starring Grant Ellis. Ellis is a former professional basketball player but is best known for his debut on season 21 of “The Bachelorette” but was sent home during week six. The new season of “The Bachelor” is filled with fascinating participants, new twists and emotional moments. Throughout the 12 weeks, Ellis will eliminate contestants weekly and ultimately choose one to be his wife.
After retiring from basketball because of a knee injury, Ellis moved to Houston, Texas to pursue his career. He is passionate about his career in finance and has a desire to build a future centered around a family. The 31-year-old hopes to find a woman who is humorous, loyal and who enjoys the little things.
Ellis greets each woman individually at the entrance of the bachelor mansion, some entrances being more memorable than others. The night one reveals several fan favorites. Dina Lupancu is an attorney from Chicago, Ill. She is incredibly organized and loves to dance. Litia Gar from Salt Lake City, Utah loves sports and is family-oriented, similar to Ellis. Rose Sombke is another fan-favorite, also from Chicago. She is a romantic and considers herself a caregiver in relationships. Allyshia Gupta is an interior designer from Tampa, Fla. She is a former pageant queen and has a huge heart. She is undeniably beautiful and a risk taker. Alexe Godin received the first impression rose that night. The 27-year-old from Canada is fluent in French, bubbly and open-minded.
Throughout the night, Ellis remained humorous and high-spirited, despite a few awkward encounters. His vulnerability with these women makes this season so easy to watch. Ellis has no issues opening up or being honest, unlike some previous bachelors. His light-hearted nature makes it easy to love him. Though Ellis is a likeable bachelor, it is hard to top season 28’s bachelor, Joey Graziadei. In this season, Bachelor Nation has traveled to Spain, Scotland and the Dominican Republic. As the hometowns week approaches, Ellis will travel across the country to the final four women’s homes and meet their families.
So far, Season 29 of “The Bachelor” is full of dramatic entrances, disappointing events and twists while 25 women compete for the title of Mrs. Ellis.
