The Marauders fought to gain their first win on Friday, Dec. 6 against Brookwood. While the team put forth their best efforts, Brookwood was still able to win.
The game went back and forth throughout the entire game. The Warriors went into the fourth quarter with an eight-point lead and stretched this lead to 13 points, but the Marauders began to comeback in the final minutes, cutting this lead down to two points.
“Before the game we were just [focused] on getting our first win,” senior Nash Beshears said. “During the game, it was close and we were just fighting to get this first win but unfortunately it didn't happen.”
While Maclay had an opportunity to tie the game, their costly turnover ultimately sealed the win for Brookwood.
“We need to get in the gym more and get more shots up,” senior Andrew Lunt said. “We have only played with each other for a week so we are still building up our chemistry.”
The Marauders will continue to work hard during practices in order to ensure better performance.
The Marauders look to bounce back on Saturday, Dec. 7 against St. John Paul II.
