Neck and Neck

Trump Wins the 2024 Presidential Election

On Nov. 6, Donald J. Trump was declared the 47th president of the United States. After various polls being “neck and neck,” the results were given after Trump gained the electoral votes of Wisconsin, putting him over the needed 270.

According to The Associated Press (AP), states such as California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia were all in favor of the Vice President Kamala Harris, while other states voted Donald Trump.

When looking at the results from the 2020 election, the states Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania went from voting against Trump to voting for him in 2024.

For his second presidency, Trump has promised more secure borders, rebuilding “the greatest economy in history,” deportation of immigrants, embracing patriotism and making ideological changes to the education system.
