Gallery: Maclay Celebrates Students’ Creativity at the Come Together Art Show


Life in Color - Upper school parents and teachers “come together” to enjoy creative works, food and music. 


Promptly Displayed - Paintings and photographs are strategically placed to showcase each individual work of art. 


Soundcheck - Upper school music club plays “When The Sun Hits” by Slowdive, with senior Morgan Manrique singing the lead. 


Biggest Supporters - Friends, mentors and participants of the art show celebrate junior Emma Murray for her impressive award. “It felt great to be given this award because this is the first time I've felt content with my work, and the painting means a lot to me personally,” Murray said. “This award really showed me that if you have passion and a drive for something, you can do anything.”


Fine Art - To recognize entries in the art show, booklets are passed out to attendees listing every art piece.


Meaningful Mediums - Submissions from the art show are created with diverse mediums like clay, acrylic paints, watercolor paints and colored pencils,and even photographs were submitted.



Turning Back Time - Junior AP Art student Ella Tobe poses in front of her artwork. “[I was inspired by] the nostalgia I feel when I look back on my childhood,” Tobe said. “I wanted my piece to feel bubbly and like a glimpse into little me’s imagination.


Well Deserved - Head of School James Milford presents awards to hard-working participants.


Western Soles - Senior featured artist Kendall Reed’s piece “Cowgirl Things” is showcased for admiration.


Creative Threads - Junior Belén Rambana presents a unique art piece–a dress–different from paintings and photographs. She invites viewers to notice that everything is art.
