The supermodel,  reality TV star and Kardashian sister, Kendall Jenner, made three surprise appearances at college bars to promote her liquor brand, 818 Tequila.  Jenner’s product has become one of the main focuses of her career and it is named after the area code of Los Angeles, where she grew up. In October 2023, Jenner made her first college tour at Ohio State University, Indiana University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champion and the University of Michigan. To market her brand to the Southeast regions in the United States, Jenner made her way to the University of Alabama, University of Georgia and the University of Florida (UF).

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, Jenner made her first stop in Tuscaloosa, at the University of Alabama. When fans heard the news that Jenner was in town, they flooded the two bars she was visiting that afternoon. At these bars, Jenner was seen behind the counter serving up margaritas and shots. By doing this, Jenner promoted her brand and was able to connect with college students.

Later that evening, Jenner appeared in Athens, Georgia, serving up tequila at a bar on the University of Georgia’s campus. Georgia Students flocked the bar and she was even seen signing her products at a liquor store on campus. At this point of Jenner’s surprise visits, the college tours were all over social media. Students from other Southern universities began speculating whether Jenner would shock their university by making a surprise visit. Many students grew up watching the supermodel on the reality TV show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” which explains why college students would be so excited to meet her.

“I think it's a really cool experience for college students to bring them together with their community for a fun reason,” junior Kate Reichelderfer said. “If it were me, I would be excited to meet her and I would have a great time with my friends.”

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Jenner paid her last visit to the University of Florida, in Gainesville. Fans theorized that she would be stopping in Gainesville, so they waited outside the Social at Midtown on UF’s campus, as early as 1 p.m. Jenner arrived at the bar later that evening, and fans were excited to take pictures and get her autograph.

“I think that it was really good marketing on behalf of Kendall and her PR team as college students are the main focus where she can make a lot of profit,” senior Parker Lambert said. “If Kendall Jenner visited my college I would be very happy to meet her and it would definitely be a really good experience.”

Since Jenner’s main consumers are college students, her college tours were a successful way to promote her brand and bond with her fans in a fun way.
