Is Spirit Finally Crashing?

Spirit Airlines Files for Bankruptcy After 44 Years of Operating

Spirit is a well-known airline, but not always for the right reasons. Spirit has had an extremely bad reputation for 24 years because of their low ratings, constant flight delays, uncomfortable seating and unnecessary fees for items like a hand bag or carry-on luggage. With Spirit Airlines not adhering to any of their customers complaints, it has ultimately led to the airline having to file for bankruptcy.

Even though Spirit is the main choice for many budget travelers, customers’ preferences have shifted towards premium offers with other better airlines who offer a lot more amenities. With this, filing for bankruptcy is not always a bad decision. There have been many major United States companies that have filed for bankruptcy, including three major airlines–American Airlines, United and Delta–but these airlines have ended up on the stronger side of the process. Spirit sent out a statement saying that “they will continue to operate as it restructures its debt.”
