Maclay’s Best and Brightest Nominations

The annual Best and Brightest competition is held in May and is a prestigious event that honors the outstanding accomplishments of selected high school seniors around Leon County. The competition consists of 15 categories and evaluates students based on their academic achievements, leadership and service. This year, on Thursday, Dec. 12, Maclay announced their Best and Brightest nominees to represent the school at the competition.
The Maclay nominations include seniors Zara Jaffe for the Art category, Andrew Lunt for athletics, Isabel Davis for Business, Hayne Miller for Career/Technical, Aidenn Hafez for Drama and Performing Arts, Megan Vegas for English and Language Arts, Vine Butler for Journalism and Media Production, Carson Conway for Leadership, Diya Patel for Mathematics, Emily Hawken for Music, John Fletcher Butler for Public Speaking, Ireland Earlywine for Science and Health, Maggie Murray for Social Science, Leah Song for Technology and Sophia Wildrick for World Languages.
Winners of the competition in May will receive scholarships ranging from $100 to $1,500. The ceremony is an opportunity for these outstanding Maclay students to showcase their hard work and dedication.
