A new year of high school can be nerve wracking, especially for many freshmen. However, Maclay’s diverse student-led clubs can help them explore their interests and find their group of people.

As done every year, the Inter-Club Council (ICC) hosted an ICC fair on Aug. 29 in the Cartee Gym. All upper school students explored a wide range of clubs and academic organizations by visiting each table and talking to the current leaders and members.

At the event, existing club members showcased a poster board and items unique to their club. Maclay Women’s Service Club, for example, handed out stickers of inspiring quotes for women, and the literary journal, Notes from the Underground, passed out the previous issues. Spectrum Club distributed colorful bracelets, Chess Club held chess matches on the spot and academic organizations like Junior Classical League and Mu Alpha Theta displayed their trophies. Last but not least, Music Club presented live performances.

Students who expressed interests for clubs will be contacted shortly, and each club will begin their planned activities for the 2024-25 school year.
