Disney Plus Beats Prime Video as the Best Streaming Service for Families

There are so many iconic streaming services, and after a while, it can get difficult to keep track of which ones are best for a family’s needs. Streaming services like Netflix are loved among Americans, and their original shows have the awards to show for it. However, there are multiple options out there that do not get as much attention. Among these are Disney Plus and Prime Video. While they are both great, Disney Plus manages to come out on top, especially for families looking for a well-rounded option.

Disney Plus offers content that the whole family can enjoy. According to the Disney Plus Help Center, Disney Plus includes content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. The streaming service includes both lovable classics and exciting originals for the whole family to enjoy. While Prime Video has a variety of options for all ages as well, Disney Plus includes well-known titles that kids and family members will recognize. There are several different Disney bundle options for a subscriber to choose from. According to the Disney Plus Help Center, subscribers can purchase a Disney Bundle Duo that includes Disney Plus and Hulu. Other opinions include Disney Bundle Trio with Disney Plus, Hulu and Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) Plus. The price of these bundles starts at $10.99 per month for the Disney Bundle Duo Basic. According to Amazon, the price for an Amazon Prime Membership is $14.99 per month. The Disney Bundle Duo Basic provides subscribers with two streaming services for a lower price than the Amazon Prime Membership does for one.

Unlike Prime Video, once the Disney Plus subscription is purchased, the subscriber does not have to pay for any individual movies or shows. According to Disney Plus Help Center, the subscription includes thousands of titles for streamers to choose from. All of these movies and shows are included with the initial subscription that viewers pay for. While Prime Video has a vast array of options, only certain titles are included in the subscription. Any additional titles must be paid for separately.

According to Amazon, Prime Video is only one component of the Amazon Prime Membership that includes other entertainment benefits, including Amazon Music, delivery benefits such as same-day delivery and free shipping on select items. The benefits of an Amazon Prime membership span several areas of interest. However, these benefits in other areas do not always make up for the loss of streaming access. As a streaming service, Prime Video tends to fall behind and allow the other benefits of an Amazon Prime Membership to make up for its losses.

One option for streamers who want the Prime benefits but also want the multitude of fun options for family movie night is to purchase both subscriptions. Many streamers purchase several services so that they can maximize their available content. The Amazon Prime Membership and Disney Plus complement each other well and allow streamers this maximized content availability. However, if only one option can be purchased, Disney Plus is the better choice.
