On the night of Oct. 12, the character of Domingo, played by Marcello Hernandez, made his debut on Saturday Night Live (SNL). He appeared on a parody to the song “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. The skit features four bridesmaids, including Ariana Grande, singing about their friend Kelsey’s bachelorette party. They reveal that Keylsey cheated on her fiancé, Matt, with a man named Domingo.

To everyone’s surprise, Domingo shows up at the wedding and gives a speech. This entertaining parody quickly went viral with its catchy lyrics.

“Hey Matt,” Hernandez (Domingo) said. “Came all this way. Had to explain, direct from Domingo. Kelsey’s a friend – she’s like my sis, but we did hook up though.”

On the second night of Carpenter’s Los Angeles concert, during the segment where she “arrests” someone for being too hot, Hernandez, dressed as Domingo, was chosen. Carpenter engaged with “Domingo” causing everyone in the arena to erupt in cheers and recite his famous lines, slightly changed from the SNL skit, replacing the name Kelsey with Sabrina.

After the virality of the skit, the Domingo character has made multiple recurrences. One SNL skit included the bridesmaids return for Kelsey’s baby shower, using a parody of “HOT TO GO!” to reveal she got with Domingo again and one of her twins is his.
