Covering the Lies With Clothes

The Former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch Is Arrested

Abercrombie & Fitch opened in 1892 and has always upheld a good reputation. This store specializes in clothing for teens and young adults. Although the outfits may seem pleasant, the faces behind the brand are not.

On Oct. 22, news broke out that Mike Jefferies, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 through 2014, is being charged with sex trafficking. Jefferies, along with Matt Smith and Jim Jacobson, was under FBI investigation after rumors spread that they were abusing and exploiting young men. The investigation started in January after victims filed a civil lawsuit against them and no action was done until now. In his lawsuit, he is being accused of scouting young men to model for Abercrombie & Fitch and exploiting them.

Mike Jefferies is currently on house arrest and pleading not guilty of the alleged crimes. Although Jefferies might not ever be able to have the same picture in society, Abercrombie & Fitch has a new CEO Fran Horowitz who promises better for the company.
