The boys and girls track and field teams found great success at the 26th annual Chiles Capital City Track and Field Classic on Saturday, March 22. All the Marauders fought valiantly to secure points for their team, with Maclay having several athletes place.

On the track, sophomore David Barton led the way for the Marauders, running a 4:26 mile and placing.

“I was focused on what was in front of me and what I could control,” senior Adam Bailey said. “I made sure to stay true to my form and run my own race

On the field, Maclay did even better. Junior Sofia Evers won the javelin event, junior Quinton Douglass placed 7th in shot put, and many Marauders set their personal records, including that of Bailey in the 100 yard dash.

The Marauders look to dominate their next meet at Rickards High School on Tuesday, March 25, beginning to prepare for the playoffs.
