A New Presidency

Donald Trump Is Inaugurated Into Office

On Monday, Jan. 20, former president Donald Trump was again inaugurated into office as the 47th president of the United States of America, with  J.D. Vance as his vice-president. The ceremony was attended by Trump’s family, such as his wife Melania Trump and his children.

All living former presidents were also in attendance, including Trump’s predecessors, former president Joe Biden, former vice-president Kamala Harris and their families.

Trump’s swearing in was held in the Capitol Rotunda. The ceremony concluded with Trump’s second inaugural address. In the 30-minute speech, he spoke of plans for his upcoming time in office.

“From this day on, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign and independent nation,” Trump said in his speech. “We will stand bravely. We will live proudly. We will dream boldly, and nothing will stand in our way. Because we are Americans. The future is ours. And our golden age has just begun.”
